About Us

Based in Brighton

We are based in Brighton, UK, and design and develop websites for individuals and small organisations.

We aim to develop websites that meet the objectives and aesthetic requirements of our clients. If you, our client, have a clear idea of the 'look' you'd like then you will be part of the design process.

We mainly use WordPress as the website development system.  WordPress is a free industry standard CMS (Content Management System) which, once a website has been developed, enables you to update the website yourself needing only word processor-type skills.

Design Aims

Our overall aim is to design a website that is both attractive and functional.

To be functional a website needs the following characteristics:

  • It is immediately apparent what the website is about and for whom it is intended
  • The aesthetic 'values' of the site owner are communicated
  • Whatever page is displayed, it is clear where the visitor is within the website and where they can go next
  • The website is mobile-responsive.  That is, it will automatically re-arrange its layout so that it is readable on a mobile phone.

Costs Guide

Our charges for developing a website range from £100 - £800 .  The lower end of the range is for websites of voluntary organisations and charities; the higher end for websites that support their owners' trade.  The cost also varies according to the 'size' of the website. A basic website has up to 5 menu items (e.g. Home, Gallery, Archive, About, Contact).

The cost increases when there is content requiring more than 5 menu items and when more complex functions are required, such as on-line membership, event booking, user polls, etc.

In addition you will need to hire webspace from an Internet Service Provider and pay for a domain name (i.e. the 'address' of your website ending in .com, .co.uk, etc). This costs typically £100 - £150 per annum, depending on how 'fast' you wish your website to be.
